Skilled Migration

The General Skilled Migration Scheme is aimed at those individuals who are wishing to migrate or remain in Australia but an employment based option is not available.

To be eligible for the grant of a visa via the Skilled Migration Scheme, the visa applicant must be able to meet a points test which is based on a number of factors which include:

  • Nominated skill or occupation
  • Age
  • English Language Ability
  • Work Experience
  • Nomination by a State/Territory Government
  • Nomination by an eligible Australia based relative
